Popular Zimdancehall Reggae superstar Soul Musaka popularly known as Soul Jah Love has died.
Soul Jah Love was one of the prominent Zimdancehall artists who rose to fame around 2012 with “Gum Kum” and “Ndini Uya Uya”.
Later on, he engaged in one of the memorable lyrical wars with Mbare sensation, Tawanda Mumanyi, popularly known as Seh Calaz.
Chibaba’s impact in the Zimdancehall fraternity was huge and had the greatest street cred in Zimbabwe. Soul Jah Love earned respect from icons like Dr. Oliver Mtukudzi and Winky D. With Winky D, they went on to record a collaboration together called Magafa.
Soul Jah Love was confirmed dead at around 2300hrs. The cause of death is believed to be complications on levels of blood pressure and sugar Diabetes. A source revealed that the levels of both deficiencies sky rocketed at once and was rushed to hospital.
The chanter was reported dead after he was admitted at Mbuya Dorcas Hospital, in Waterfalls. Prophet Passion Java was the first to confirm the rumours, followed by a status from his niece and call recordings.
In one of his recent songs, Soul Jah Love asked for everyone who deemed to know him whether on good or bad terms to not say anything bad about him. The record is called Kana Ndafa produced by Gzzy for Bad Company Records.
It is obvious, a lot wil start to link his relationship with drugs and think of it as the main cause of his death. All Soul Jah Love asked for is respect and a humble send off.
Soul was an icon in Zimdancehall. Had it not been during these times, what with a global pandemic, he would have received a well deserved extraordinary send off at the National Sports Stadium. Nonetheless, something will happen and everyone is looking forward to it.
