Blood and Water Season 2 Playlists Zimbabwean Music

The premiere of South Africa’s hit series ‘Blood and Water’ second season brought joy not only to its fans in Zimbabwe but as well as artists whose music was featured on the series.

‘Blood and Water’ is a teen series that premiered last year on the 20th of May 2020. It focuses on a story of two girls that were sisters but were separated. Like the positive and negative polls, both the main acts attracted each other and kept in contact. Be it in good or bad situation.

Most of the soundtracks featured on the series were produced by Zimbabwe’s very own but based in the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Kamera. Mr. Kamera along with Frya are the main people behind most of the soundtracks including the theme song.

Frya has been making great moves as of late in the Republic of South Africa since she is the person behind SABC 1 theme song, Mzansi Magics and another Netflix series, Jiva. Frya’s work has been greatly appreciated.

“I feel extremely blessed about the Blood & Water placements and having had the opportunity to do the soundtrack which is a key piece of a show’s identity” Frya

The second season did not only empower her music but helped in promoting her debut album, Balance. 4 of her songs from Balance, that us, Changes, Calculate, Back It Up and Chandalier, were featured on ‘Blood and Water’ second season. Balance is set to drop on the 22nd of October 2021. Produced by Mr. Kamera and gTbeats.

Sadza neMuriwo also was featured on ‘Blood and Water’ second season. The multi award winning artist took it to his socials and showed love back and encouraged everyone to go and watch the second season.

An artists and yet an explorer, Ndinewe by Gemma Griffiths from her last EP called Pamwe made it to the cut. Ndinewe was released late 2020 in promotion of her second EP.

Last but not least, In2You by Raydizz featuring Midori and man of the moment Poptain. Raydizz is an award winning DJ after he competed in a context in the United States of America and a resident DJ at Pabloez.

This was strategic and yet promoting Zimbabwe as an industry by empowering and supporting fellow artists.
