Feeling proud and ready, Joy Rukaza dropped her latest single ‘Queendom’ since the release of ‘Roses’ early this year.
Joy Rukanza is a UK based Bulawayo artist. Born and bred in Pumula. With no offense to any other cities, Bulawayo has produced great artists that have gone abroad and influence other nation with their culture. Bulawayo is a city that boasts of excellence in everything they do even though they do not receive a wider audience. Joy thinks that the reason behind could be that people think Bulawayo artists are not serious, have no quality music and investments.
Those assumptions have overshadowed everyone residing in Bulawayo and made it hard for others to penetrate the market. Joy asks the audience and the industry at large to stop generalising everything and house everyone under one umbrella. If one has failed it does not mean everyone has. Therefore, if these artists are assessed one by one they might find some who are serious and give them a chance.
Joy is a Pop/Urban singer who possesses some of R&B/Soul traits in her art. She introduces herself as the new sound. One of her notable tracks is ‘New Day’ featuring Kid X, a South African artist.
Joy latest offering (Queendom) was launched differently unlike other projects. The single had a launch party and was featured on 4 different playlists on Apple Music that is, African Hip Hop, Tun Up New, Future Hits, New Music Daily, on its debut.
‘Queendom’ was released on the 8th of October by Joy Worldwide Studio. Produced by Murphy Cubic. The video was shot in Tanzania. ‘Queendom’ now streaming on all digital platforms.
